Ruckus Wireless
Not long ago, wireless networking and reliability was not something
that small-to-medium businesses (SMB) could enjoy at a reasonable price
and without technical hassles. This was to change entirely about four
years ago when Ruckus began to develop what was to become the most
successful enterprise class wireless solution designed for SMB's. The
solution consists of two components: the ZoneDirector and the ZoneFlex
access points (AP). It is extremely easy to deploy and it can be
configured in minutes.
Security is provided by a Dynamic Pre-Shared Key (PSK) with 63-byte
encryption per user which is automatically generated and can be set to
expire. This eliminates the need for extensive IT intervention and does
not require every device to be manually configured with the correct SSID
and an encryption key. New users simply connect to the Ethernet LAN
network and after successful authentication the ZoneDirector generates a
unique encryption key. A temporary applet with the encryption key and
other wireless configuration information is then pushed to the client,
which automatically configures the user's device without any human
intervention. After this process is complete, the user simply
disconnects from the Ethernet LAN and connects to the wireless network.
This solution is ideal for corporate offices (20 - 500 users), hotels,
clinics, restaurants and malls that constantly need to easily add or remove users from their
wireless network. The process can be successfully managed by someone with very
little IT training without compromising the network's security and
reliability.

The Ruckus ZoneDirector 1000 is the first centrally managed
multimedia Wireless LAN (WLAN) solution developed specifically for
small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) and hot zone operators.

ZoneFlex access point provides a complete, secure, robust and easily
expandable WLAN solution at a low total cost of ownership — integrating
state-of-the-art capabilities such as wireless meshing, Wi-Fi beam
steering, automatic client security, interference avoidance and 802.11n.
